How can you not be cheering for the Chicago Cubs in this World Series?
One hundred and eight years is a long time to wait for a team to get a championship and of course there are still four wins to get before now and that historic feat.
But take into consideration the last time the Cubs even got to the World Series –1945.
The end of the Second World War. Cubs fans have waited 71-years for this moment.
The team they are playing of course is the second longest drought for a World Series Championship but Cleveland’s is a measly 67 years.
But it looks like the time has finally come and Cubs fans can stop blaming goats or Steve Bartman or anyone else for the team’s century-plus long drought.
The Cubs offense is strong and it’s matched by a good pitching staff. As much as Cleveland’s pitchers were able to freeze Toronto’s star studded lineup, the Cubs have at least shown the knack for hitting an off-speed pitch.
It’s going to be an October to remember for Cubs fans as they know all too well, you just never know when it’s going to happen again.
