Traffic flow might be a little better on a stretch of Highway 1 east of Regina.
Repaving between the Pilot Butte access and Balgonie is complete. Starting Friday, four lane traffic on that stretch of Highway 1 will reopen.
The temporary traffic signals will remain at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 48 due to site line concerns and ongoing construction on the White City overpass.
Regina Bypass Design Builders will be increasing the speed on most areas of Highway 1 east to 80 km/hr, while 60 km/hr zones will remain in effect at sites like the overpass sites at White City and Balgonie.
Other traffic changes in the area east of Regina include the opening of the new north and south service roads between the Pilot Butte access and Gravel Pit Road, and the permanent closure of the Pilot Butte access and Highway 1 intersection.
