A woman in Regina tried to put out a fire but ended up nursing some burns instead on Saturday.
Regina Fire and Protective Services said the fire started in the bedroom of one of the suites in the apartment building at 2712 7th Avenue. Their crews got the call to respond just after 1 a.m.
According to Regina fire, a woman in the suite tried to put out the flames but was burned – she was taken to hospital.
Crews worked for the next five hours until the fire was extinguished around 6 a.m.
Regina fire said the flames were mostly contained to the bedroom of one suite – an adjacent suite sustained some smoke and water damage.
The fire is being investigated, but as of Saturday morning had not been ruled suspicious.
