Saskatoon police are investigating the city’s 10th homicide case after a man died from injuries sustained during an attack Friday night.
Around 10:53 p.m. Oct. 14, police and MD Ambulance personnel responded to a call about an injured man at a home on the 1400 block Avenue G North, near 35th Street West.
When they arrived, officers found a 26-year-old man who had been injured in an apparent assault.
He died of his injuries at the scene.
Cody Nolan lives nearby and told 650 CKOM there was a large police presence Friday night.
“They pretty much rushed the house. At least six cop cars, then multiple from the other direction and ambulance,” he said Saturday.
The neighbour said Friday’s incident is not isolated in the area.
“The block behind actually had a standoff in the summer,” Nolan said. “Full of SWAT and everything, and I wasn’t allowed to leave my house.”
The Saskatoon police major crime unit and forensic identification section, who are working in conjunction with the chief coroner’s office, are actively investigating.
At the request of the family, the name of the deceased will not be released.
