A 34-year-old man is facing six new charges after being arrested on Thanksgiving Monday.
Around 2 a.m., a police officer saw a man at a business in the 5800 block of Rochdale Boulevard. He recognized the man from five outstanding arrest warrants.
When the male was asked to identify himself, he gave the officer a piece of identification belonging to another person. The officer then confirmed the male’s identity through police checks, including a photograph.
When officers attempted to arrest the man on the warrants, he actively resisted and allegedly kept trying to reach for something at the waistband of his pants. Officers had to subdue the suspect by taking him to the ground and, upon searching him, found a knife concealed in his waistband.
Cree Colin Goforth is now facing six new charges including resisting arrest, identity fraud, possessing a weapon.
Goforth was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained during the arrest. He has since been remanded into custody.
His next court appearance will be on Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
