Jamie Nye: Star players should never be untouchable

You have to give Toronto Argonauts’ Scott Milanovich some credit.

There is not going to be any preferential treatment for players in that locker room. He saw a few players not taking their profession seriously and he clearly stated, as more athletes need to, it’s a privilege to be a pro not a right.
 
So gone are Tori Gurley, Vidal Hazelton and Kevin Elliott. Milanovich would rather risk his season by depleting the talent in the locker room to improve the character of a team that has a long road to haul.
 
Bad character never wins.
 
And now let’s look at another star receiver in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. His first two years in the pros, he was a high elite talent. Nobody could cover him and still can’t but they definitely can get to him.
 
Beckham is hurting his team more than helping with emotional outbursts and bad penalties. Pro teams don’t and shouldn’t be too patient with high ego, undisciplined, entitled players.

Beckham is just 23. Best to start growing up before he’s on the unemployment line with a trio of CFL receivers.
