‘Welcome Back’ may be the most popular phrase around the locker room of the Regina Pats as players who were at National Hockey League training camps return to the team.
Sam Steel is off to a fast start, with seven points in his first two games back with the Pats, both in victories.
His latest effort was a five point afternoon against Red Deer in a 7-2 win for Regina on Sunday at the Brandt Centre. That was the encore to a two goal game on Friday, when the Pats beat Edmonton 6-3.
Austin Wagner is also back with the team and was able score in his debut in Sunday’s victory after being reassigned by the Los Angeles Kings.
Now, Adam Brooks is the only player who is still at camp in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Pats are off to a fast start with three wins in their first four games.
Regina’s next game is Friday at home to Kootenay.
