Water at new Mosaic Stadium given the all clear

The water at the new Mosaic Stadium has been given the green light and is now safe to drink.

The City of Regina said in a news release Friday test results show the water is safe at the new facility. That means fans heading to the test game Saturday afternoon between the University of Regina Rams and University of Saskatchewan Huskies will be able to drink water from the tap.

The city confirms their back-up plan will remain in place. A water tanker will be on site and fans are encouraged to bring water bottles that can be filled up. Bottled water will also be available for sale.

With the water having passed provincial testing, signs will no longer be posted at the entrance at all 23 washrooms on the main concourse and over sinks as a caution not to drink the water.

On Thursday, the city sent out a release saying debris like gravel and stones were found in the water when the lines were being flushed. At that time, the water was not deemed drinkable.
