An abandoned and boarded up house in north central Regina has been destroyed by a massive fire.
It began just before 3:00 p.m. on the 1000 block of Angus Street.
By the time crews arrived, the structure was almost fully encased in flames.
Fire crews battled to stop the fire from engulfing the neighbouring occupied home.
Marcella Dubois was across the street and called 911.
“Flames and smoke, really thick. What I was worried about that there would be someone in there or kids, you know, they light fires in the city all the time,” Dubois described.
“It was pretty scary, yes, the flames were big and they were going on the house next door.”
Damage to the eaves trough and the roof of the neighbouring house was obvious from the street.
An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the fire.
