One of the two men RCMP were looking for after a serious assault on the Muscowpetung First Nation has turned himself in.
On Thursday, 32-year-old Wade Morris Lerat surrendered to police and made his first court appearance on charges that include aggravated assault and kidnapping. He was remanded in custody and will be back in Fort Qu’Appelle court Oct. 6.
This follows an incident earlier in the week in a remote area on the first nation in which a 42-year-old victim was sent to hospital. That individual is expected to recover.
Mounties are still looking for 22-year-old Tyler Yuzicappi. He faces similar charges to Lerat.
Police said they are now also looking for a third suspect, 35-year-old Cory Byron Redwood. He’s being charged with assault.
If the public has any information on the whereabouts of Yuzicappi or Redwood, they’re asked to call Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP at 306-332-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
