Before voting in Regina’s civic election, residents will need to register to vote.
It is a simple form that affirms that you are 18 or over, live in Regina and are eligible to vote.
The form can be found online and can be filled in advance of election day.
“It is just there to expedite. If you choose to do it make sure that you bring ID. Picture ID is required, but if you don’t have picture ID, two pieces of other identification will suffice,” Chief Returning Officer Jim Nicol explained.
In this election, there will once again a drive-thru polling station along with four days of advance polls.
There are also special polls and mail-in ballots for those who require it.
Just 33 per cent of people eligible turned out to vote in 2012 and the City of Regina hopes to see that increase.
