Previously, WHL players were declared ineligible to play NCAA hockey in the U.S.
The 1600 block of Avenue C North was blocked off Tuesday night as police executed a high-risk search warrant at a home.
Police responded to the home around 6:30 p.m. looking for a man wanted for stolen property and driving charges.
An armoured vehicle and heavily armed officers, along with a crisis negotiator, assisted after it was thought the suspect might have a gun.
The situation was brought to a peaceful end about seven hours later when officers made contact with the people inside and convinced them to exit the home.
No firearm was located.
A 25-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were arrested and are facing charges.
A third person in the home was released without charges.
Police remained at the scene early Wednesday and continue to investigate.
