The Saskatoon Hilltops improved their record to 4-1 on the season with a close 20-18 victory over the Regina Thunder Saturday.
Regina got on the board first, taking an 8-0 lead into the second quarter.
Saskatoon got on the board in the second and in an unorthodox fashion. Lineman Drayke Unger ran in for the score. James Vause added a field goal from 30-yards out for a 10-8 at the half.
The Thunder briefly took the lead in the second half with a field goal, but the that was short lived. Logan Fischer ran in a touchdown and Vause converted from 33-yards out to round out the scoring.
With the win, Saskatoon moved up to second place in the Prairie Football conference. Undefeated Calgary remains in top sport.
The Hilltops are back in action on Saturday when they visit the Okanagan Sun.
