Three elementary schools in northeast Regina were placed in secure the building mode as police dealt with a weapons-related call Monday afternoon.
The schools include Mother Teresa Middle School, St. Michael Community School, and Imperial Community School — located on the 300 block of Rose Street.
At approximately 2:36 p.m, police said a woman who lives on that block came home to find two men inside her home. Reports indicate one had an edged weapon and the other had a possible gun.
Both suspects got away heading westbound. Police confirm the suspect with the edged weapon has been arrested, however officers are still searching for the one with the possible gun.
After a search of the area, the secure the building mode was lifted around 3:30 p.m.
Officers remained on the scene to help the students get home safely.
Police said they are still searching for the second suspect, but at this time, there is not enough information to provide a description of him.
