Previously, WHL players were declared ineligible to play NCAA hockey in the U.S.
No matter the result, it was a monumental week for lacrosse in Saskatchewan.
The Saskatoon Brewers wrapped up the opening round of the President’s Cup in Leduc, Alta. Wednesday night with a 21-7 loss to Calgary.
The Brewers appearance marks the first time since 1981 a team from Saskatchewan took part in the national senior “B” lacrosse championship.
Saskatoon opened up with a 24-2 loss against the St. Albert Miners on Monday, before losing 18-5 to the Brooklin Merchants on Tuesday.
With three losses, Saskatoon did not advance to the playoff rounds. They will play Langley on Friday for seventh place.
