The final Labour Day Classic to be played on Taylor Field at Mosaic Stadium is getting close to a sell out.
Although there is no official word on ticket sales from the Roughriders, a quick search of TicketMaster.com shows tickets are going fast.
On Monday morning, the ticket map showed only a few dozen single seats available scattered across many different sections. The website does show more than 200 seats for resale and there are a few more tickets up for grabs on websites such as UsedRegina.ca and Kijiji.ca.
The average going price for a single ticket ranges between $63 and $120 depending on the section.
Despite the dismal 1-8 record for this season, Rider fans appear to be hoping to keep the tradition of winning against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Labour Day Classic.
The fan hype is not extending, however, to the Banjo Bowl in Winnipeg. The Blue Bombers tweeted sales to Rider fans are down 30 per cent this year.
Rider fan #BanjoBowl ticket purchases down over 30%. If that’s not reason enough to come, the final score will be. #RollCallFail
