The Saskatoon Hilltops avoided a second half collapse and rallied to beat Edmonton 35-20 Sunday afternoon.
The win gives the ‘Tops a victory in their first road contest and moves the record to 2-0 on the season.
Saskatoon opened up a 20-3 lead at halftime, only to see the large advantage slowly disappear. Edmonton stormed back in the third quarter to make it a 22-20 game heading into the fourth quarter.
But that was as close as the hosts could get.
Running back Logan Fischer led the way with three touchdowns, including the decisive score in the fourth quarter, making it a 29-20 game. Jared Andreychuk would put it out of reach with one more touchdown in the quarter.
With back-to-back wins to open up the season, the Hilltops return home to host Calgary on Sunday, Aug. 28.
