Regina police are investigating a possible firearms offence in North Central.
Police were called to the 3100 block of Dewdney Avenue — between Cameron Street and Garnet Street — around 12:30 a.m. Friday.
According to police, two women were walking westbound on Dewdney Avenue when they heard a loud bang, sounding like a gun going off. They witnessed a dark coloured SUV approach heading eastbound on Dewdney Avenue, then northbound on Athol Street, and then westbound on 8th Avenue.
No one was injured.
A little later, police observed a vehicle matching the description provided at the corner of Garnet Street and Dewdney Avenue. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but it sped away. It was eventually located abandoned in the 2300 block of Rae Street.
The investigation is ongoing.
