Another day, another fine for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
After practice on Tuesday, Darian Durant mentioned that sometimes the team feels like it’s “us against the world” when it comes all the fines coming down against the Riders, adding he, too, has been fined by the league.
“I really do think that’s the mentality we have to take, because for whatever reason, they’re after us a little bit,” he said.
When pressed further about the nature of his fine, Durant declined to comment.
A league spokesman confirmed that Durant was fined by the league in week seven for a uniform violation. He said that on any given week – including week seven – five to ten players are fined for various uniform infractions.
These fines are routinely handed out, but minor, so not typically announced by the league when they happen.
Durant’s fine comes on the heels of the Roughriders being fined more than $60,000 for roster violations.
