A worker has died after an accident at the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan construction site in Saskatoon.
Saskatoon police were called to the site Thursday just after 3:30 p.m.
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital where he later died. Police have not released the man’s name.
Graham construction, the company overseeing the children’s hospital project, released a statement Thursday.
“Graham offers our deepest condolences to the family,” the company said. “All parties are cooperating with the investigation to determine the root cause and prevent tragedies like this from happening again.”
The construction company said grief counsellors are available for family and employees.
The job site has been shut down as police and occupational health and safety continue to investigate.
