They are the hottest tickets in town right now, and the Saskatchewan Rush is expecting another sold-out SaskTel Centre for Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Bandits.
Rush President Lee Genair said Tuesday, all unclaimed tickets reserved for season ticket holders will be released over the course of the day.
Based on the demand so far, those won’t last long.
“Everyone keeps calling and begging for tickets,” he said.
“We’re calling every season ticket holder. We’re making sure we get in touch with everyone first before we release their seats.”
Genair said they are releasing tickets periodically and recommends checking the Ticketmaster website regularly. Fans can also check Co-Op stores in Saskatoon and in Warman.
It’s not just seat sales that have been strong, Rush merchandise is also flying off shelves at a record pace.
“We will eclipse the entire league in merchandise sales, which is unbelievable in our first season,” Genair said, predicting the team’s popularity will spread across and into neighbouring provinces.
The Rush beat the Bandits in game one of the best of three National Lacrosse League final in Buffalo on May 28.
They could claim their second consecutive championship with a win on Saturday.
The action begins 7 p.m. at SaskTel Centre.
