Two Saskatchewan pro golfers have made good on their pledge to donate for residents of Fort McMurray.
PGA golfer Graham DeLaet tweeted Wednesday he would give $500 for every birdie he made at last week’s tournament, the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina, to the people affected by wildfires in Alberta.
An outpouring of support followed on social media, including another pledge by Sask. golfer Adam Hadwin to do the same.
Combined, they knocked in 21 birdies and will donate $10,500 to the Red Cross fire victims.
Additionally, the Graham and Ruby DeLaet Foundation hosted an online portal for donations, which raised a total of $23,360 as of Monday morning.
11 birdies this week makes a $5500 donation to @redcrosscanada. Thank you to everyone who teamed up with me.

It makes me so proud to be Canadian to see how we can all come together in times like these!

Racked up 4 birdies today. Brings me to a week total of 10, which means 5,000$ to help everyone hurt by the fires. #ymmproud
