A 26-year-old Saskatoon man, who made a failed frantic getaway from police Tuesday, now faces multiple drug-related charges.
Around 7:30 p.m., police spotted a truck driven by a man they believed was wanted on outstanding charges.
Officers saw the truck heading from north Saskatoon to 8th Street East.
At this time, the man began driving erratically – heading through an alley before coming to a stop on Campbell Avenue, police said.
When officers drew near, the man reversed the truck and rammed a parked vehicle.
Police said he did this again before hitting another car and driving onto a lawn.
When investigators tried to stop the driver, he was seen pushing a “baggie into a cup of coffee.”
Police said, once in custody, the man was found in possession of several cell phones, marijuana and around $900 cash. The contents of the coffee will be analyzed.
The 26-year-old man is expected in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday.
