A group of teenagers were at the helm of a wild police pursuit through Saskatoon over the weekend.
Around 5:45 p.m. Sunday, officers spotted a stolen Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driving westbound on College Drive.
Police said one person was apprehended when he tried to run from the truck as it slowed near 25th Street and 3rd Avenue.
But it didn’t end there – the suspect behind the wheel drove right over stop sticks police were using to bring the truck to a halt.
Now, with one flat tire, the truck continued north on Warman Road where it crossed the 42nd Street bridge. The chase continued east on Attridge Drive and out toward St. Denis.
All the while, the suspects threw items from the truck at police cars on their tail.
It all ended when the truck was unable to stop at a turn on a gravel road southeast of St. Denis. The remaining five suspects were taken into custody without incident.
There were no injuries.
Three boys and three girls, ranging in age from 13 to 18, will be in court Monday facing a total of 16 charges relating to the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
