Canada had outscored Latvia 41-4 in their last four meetings.
Recovery efforts are underway after a damaging flood inside Cosmo Industries Monday.
Rushing water took over the lower level of Cosmo’s 34th Street and Alberta Avenue location, according to a Facebook post.
“Cosmo has never dealt with a challenge quite like this one…the water damage is extensive,” the post reads.
Cosmo provides programming to people with intellectual disabilities; around 195 participants are affected as the lower level, including the cafeteria and gym, is shuttered for the time being.
“The bottom of the walls are starting to swell and heave and there’s nowhere on the lower level you can go without hearing fans working to dry things out.”
On Thursday, Cosmo released an update that said participants who use city transit will be able to return to the 34th Street location on Monday, Apr. 18. But arrangements are still being made for the rest of the participants to return to their programs.
Earlier in the week, Cosmo posted an update showing the lower level completely clear of water.
“There’s fine silt everywhere and the bottom of the walls are starting to swell and heave and there’s nowhere on the lower level you can go without hearing fans working to dry things out,” according to the online update.
It goes on to say Cosmo staff and disaster recovery are working to collect any undamaged items.
The water pipe has since been repaired.
Cosmo said its recycling facility and shred were not affected by the water and it’s business as usual for those two operations.
