The Saskatchewan Rush got a break from the Georgia Swarm on Sunday.
The 6 and 9 Swarm upset the Colorado Mammoth 17-10 in Duluth Georgia, meaning the Mammoth and Rush are still tied for top spot in the National Lacrosse League west division with 10 and 4 records with four regular season games remaining.
The New England Black Wolves snapped the Rush six-game win streak with a 14-13 win over Saskatchewan on Friday.
The Rush had a six goal lead after the first quarter, but the Black Wolves had a strong finish on their home floor – outscoring Saskatchewan 6-2 in the final frame.
Shawn Evans had a nine-point game for New England.
Mark Matthews had four goals and five assists for the Rush.
The Rush and Mammoth meet in a huge home and home series this weekend.
The two teams play Friday, April 15, in Denver with the second game of the series coming to SaskTel Saturday, April 16 at 7:30.
A first place finish in the west would result in a bye to the western final, while a second place means a risky “one and done” game against the third place team in the division.
