Regina bar raided by police, fire code violations allegedly found

One of Regina’s longest standing bars was back open for business on Friday night after being raided by police early Friday morning. 
 
Regina Police Service officers raided The Pump Roadhouse on Victoria Avenue around 1 a.m. on Friday. According to a release from police, they were joined by members from Regina Fire and Protective Services, and Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming.
 
Police said they found a non-operating fire alarm system, more people in the building than the posted capacity, “several other fire code violations”, and people inside who were underage with no identification. 
 
The building was evacuated due to the problems with the fire alarm system, and police said several customers and the establishment be charged under The Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act..
 
The bar posted on its Facebook page on Friday afternoon, “Just I so everyone is aware the pump is fully operational we needed to upgrade our fire system and everything is good to go see you all tonight” (sic).
