Two men are in custody and three stolen vehicles were recovered in three separate incidents over the weekend.
Saskatoon Police spotted the first stolen car on the east end of 8th Street around 9:20 p.m. Saturday. When they tried to stop the vehicle, it fled, leading police on a chase outside the city.
The vehicle left the road at the end of the Township Road 364 and 8th Street Extension and got stuck in a snowy field.
Police surrounded the car and the 23-year-old man inside eventually gave himself up.
The man is charged with Failing To Stop For Police, Possession Of Stolen Property Over $5000 and another unrelated criminal charge.
Then just after midnight, police saw a Honda Accord in Caswell Hill that was reported stolen on Dec. 30.
Again, when police tried to stop the car, the driver fled towards Riversdale. Police managed to pop one of the car’s tired with a spike strip but had to call off the chase after four minutes.
The car was found a half hour later a few blocks away.
