As many people make their New Year’s resolutions, working out what they want to happen this year, intuitive expert, Jeff Richards, has predicted what will happen this year.
1. Clinton in the White House.
Richards said that in November, Hillary Clinton will be elected as the new U.S. president, beating Jeb Bush.
2. Another Sask. Party government.
Brad Wall will stay in his position as Premier of Saskatchewan, according to Richards, but the election in April will be close.
3. More terrorist attacks.
Richards admitted attacks are happening more and more, but said the summer will be particularly troubling when it comes to attacks in the U.S. – he saw something specifically happening around July 2.
4. No Grey Cup for the Green and White.
According to Richards, 2016 is going to be another rebuilding year for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He also said he doesn’t see Darian Durant figuring very prominently in the season.
“I don’t know if this is other talent coming in, and just lack of performance from Durant, but it feels like he’s not even there.”
He predicted Calgary will hoist the Grey Cup.
5. The Cubs win the World Series.
No redemption for Blue Jays fans in 2016, Richards said the Chicago Cubs will take the World Series.
6. The Seahawks will pick up another Super Bowl title.
Richards said he sees a bird winning the title, and was a little torn between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals.
“We see the Seahawks, we see the Cardinals, one of those two teams. I’m favouring the Seahawks, my gut is saying Seahawks, but there’s the red bird that’s figuring prominently there.”
He ended up backing the Seahawks for the Super Bowl win.
7. Delays at the Summer Olympics.
This year is going to be a year of environment changes, said Richards. Along with a Japanese island sinking into the ocean, and a huge disruption in the ice sheets, Richards said there will be unprecedented rainfall, which will disrupt some of the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero.
8. Oil on the way up.
Good news for those in the oil patch: Richards said oil prices will get a bit of a rebound in 2016, climbing to about $58 a barrel in late spring and early summer.
9. Apple + Tesla
Richards said he sees something big brewing around the Apple company and batteries, and he believes Apple and Tesla will either work closely together on something, or Apple will acquire Tesla in 2016.
10. Leo snags an Oscar.
Richards predicted Leonardo DiCaprio will finally get recognition from the Academy, likely winning the Best Actor Oscar for his role in The Revenant. He predicted Jennifer Lawrence would win an Oscar, upsetting a favourite for the award. And the summer flick Mad Max: Fury Road will figure largely at the awards this year, according to Richards.
