Police arrest man for two week-10 armed robbery spree

A 21-year-old man faces charges in connection to ten cases of armed robbery peppered throughout Saskatoon.

In a release, police said one of their officers saw the man “displaying suspicious behavior” around 11:15 p.m. Friday night. The officer then found evidence that linked the man to an armed robbery on Betts Avenue in Blairmore about 40 minutes earlier.

Investigators later linked the man to nine other armed robberies in the span of two weeks, beginning with a hotel in Stonebridge Halloween night.

The cases all follow a similar pattern: a lone man enters a business armed with a handgun, and robs the staff inside.

One of the robberies, which targeted a business on the 600 block of 22nd St. W., was unsuccessful according to police.

The suspect will be in court Monday on nine counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted armed robbery, and 10 counts of wearing a disguise while committing an indictable offense.
