The league, which has around nine players, is hosted by FC Regina.
The public will get the chance to take a closer look at the new Mosaic Stadium facility Saturday afternoon.
The City of Regina and PCL Construction are teaming up to offer people a sneak peek at the $278-million venue from 12-3 p.m.
“People are always coming by, looking and seeing where things are at so this is their opportunity to look into the bowl, to see some of the details of the plan itself,” said Mayor Michael Fougere.
“There’s a lot of interest. Certainly online interest, calls to me, people driving around. A lot of people are interested in where are things at, can I get a look at this one,” he explained.
He said as the structure goes up, it’s getting harder to see inside. That means many people haven’t been able to see much of the inside, including the field level.
Fougere encourages residents to bring their cameras because they’ll have the opportunity to take pictures from the concourse level. As well, a behind-the-scenes video of construction will be played in Confederation Park on the grounds of Evraz Place.
The project is now over the halfway mark of completion. It’s scheduled to be substantially complete at the end of August 2016. The first Rider game is on track to be played at the new stadium in June 2017.
