Three people have been charged after an inmate escaped from the Riverbend Correctional Institution in Prince Albert.
A 22-year-old inmate escaped with the help of two others on Tuesday evening, according to police.
Shortly before midnight, Saskatoon police and RCMP officers found the vehicle they believed the three individuals were in just outside of Saskatoon city limits on Highway 41.
Police created a road block and the vehicle was stopped.
Three people were arrested from the vehicle, including the inmate, a 19-year-old man and 20-year-old woman.
The inmate has been charged with escaping lawful custody. The other two have been charged with part to an offence for their involvement assisting with the inmate’s escape.
All three have been taken to Saskatoon RCMP’s detention centre and are expected to appear before a justice on Wednesday morning.
