Corey Chamblin and Brendan Taman aren’t the only ones to be released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders this week. Quarterback Tino Sunseri has been let go as well.
The decision to pull quarterback Brett Smith from the game against the Ottawa Redblacks was not well received by fans, who saw Sunseri get sacked eight times in that game. He did not speak to media after the game.
Sunseri had been cut from the team in June. But then in early July, the team re-signed him in a move that even surprised him.
“To be honest with you, I didn’t think I would be back here,” said Sunseri after being re-signed. He also said he had briefly thought about taking a job football personnel job before getting another chance with the Riders.
