It’s the last weekend of true summer freedom for thousands of kids across Saskatchewan before they head back to school for the start of another year.
If the family is looking for something to do this weekend, they’re in luck. A number of events are happening which should help limit boredom.
The SaskTel Summer Invasion takes place at Wascana Park over the weekend. Lil Jon headlines Friday night. Lights performs Saturday on the main stage. Wakeboarding and skateboarding activities are part of the event. There’s also a family zone for the kids.
For those with a more classical taste in music, the Regina Symphony Orchestra is holding its Symphony under the Sky at the Motherwell Homestead.
Food lovers might want to check out the 2015 Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival at the Willow on Wascana. You can gorge yourself on the cuisine of local chefs using mustard as their chief ingredient in a variety of dishes.
Don’t like crowds and want a peaceful activity to do with the family? For the second time this summer, the province is making the weekend a free fishing weekend. You don’t need a licence to fish on Aug. 28 and 29, however, all other regulations remain in place. Learn more.
