After several search warrants were carried out Wednesday, Regina police have charged and arrested four people.
The charges come after an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in Regina. Three homes, and a car were searched Wednesday, yielding cocaine, marijuana, an undisclosed amount of Canadian cash, bear spray, an Airsoft pistol, weigh scales , and many cell phones.
One of those arrested was a 17-year-old woman who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).
25-year-old Maluak Athel, and 27-year-old Deutong Athel from Regina, are both charged possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Maluak is charged with possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and Deutong is charged with possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. Deutong is also charged with two counts of breach of recognizance.
27-year-old Arok Athel from Calgary, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), with possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).
All four will make court appearances on Thursday.
