Andrew Mok started playing the lottery this year after his wife told him that he may have some luck in 2015, on account of him being born in the year of the rabbit. It proved to be true because Mok just won $2 million in the Western 649.
Mok is a cook who lives in Midale. He started buying lottery tickets two times a month. Again, at the discretion of his wife, Mok was told not to “play too much money, because you won’t win the big prize, you only have a small amount of luck. And I listened to her.”
Despite his winnings Mok doesn’t plan to change much in his life.
“I love my career, I respect my career … I’ve not decided how to use this money yet,” said Mok. However, in August Mok and his family will take two weeks to visit his wife’s home province of Shichuan in China.
Mok does plan to use some of the money to remodel the restaurant where he works.
