Staying in her car after it got stuck made it easier for searchers to locate a missing woman from the Crestwynd area.
A search was initiated for 68-year-old Glynnys Koraca after she called friends at around 10 p.m. Wednesday to say that her car was stuck and her cell phone was dying. She said she thought she could see water from where she was stuck. Her cell phone last pinged off a tower in the RM of Hillsborough.
Koraca was reported missing on Thursday morning. She was located that evening.
RCMP say the fact that Koraca stayed in her 2005 black Toyoto Prius after calling for help made it easier for those on foot and ATVs to find her. She was found stuck in a pasture about 20 kilometres away from where she had started her trip.
She was taken to hospital for observation, but RCMP say she was “safe and sound” when she was found.
