RCMP in Swift Current are trying to figure out how a marijuana plant ended up among the purple petunias in planters downtown.
Mounties were called Monday morning by someone reporting the potted pot in the planter. Staff Sgt. Gary Hodges says officers soon tracked down the plants on Central Avenue North.
“I have no idea what the motivation behind it was or obviously how the plant got there – if someone dropped seeds or planted it overnight,” Staff Sgt. Hodges said.
Hodges explained to Swift Current Online that officers believe it is a male cannabis plant which has less of the active ingredient in the drug.
RCMP also received reports of another plant in a potter in the city, but it had already been removed.
Anyone who spots more of the plants or has information on how the cannabis got there is asked to call the RCMP.
