Residents of a Regina neighbourhood are feeling anxious after a gunshot rang out on Montreal Street Sunday night.
No one was hurt in the shooting. On Monday morning the only evidence of the gunshot was a small bullet hole in the window of a home where two women and four children live.
“It almost sounded like a vehicle backfiring – it was loud,” said Ginelle Leece who lives just a few doors down from the home with her partner and her son.
“I don’t want to let my son outside to scooter, I actually don’t want him outside at all … Knowing that people are being shot at on our streets, it’s terrifying,” said Leece.
Officers were called to the scene at 11:06 p.m. and were able to find a bullet, but no suspects.
“At this time it doesn’t appear the residents were singled out, as they only recently moved in,” said Elizabeth Popowich with the Regina Police Service (RPS).
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the RPS at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
