Guns drawn, police closed off a section of Avenue D South Thursday evening, following reports of a man with a handgun.
Police responded to a call about a man walking around Avenue D South and 20th Street with a gun around 6:19 p.m. Police temporarily blocked off traffic in the 300 block of Avenue D South and surrounded a home. Police searched the home and didn’t find any guns, but they did seize other weapons.
At least three people, two men and a woman, were seen being escorted from the home in cuffs and were briefly detained, but no arrests were made.
Police continue to investigate. The street has been reopened.
