Former mayoral candidate Clay Mazurkewich appeared in court today facing charges of possession of a dangerous weapon.

He was representing himself and asked to negotiate a plea bargain with the Crown.

On December 20 police were called to the Coachman Bar after witnesses claimed Mazurkewich had a firearm in his possession. When police arrived on scene they found Mazurkewich in possession of two pellet guns and took him into custody.

At his first court appearance the Crown agreed to release Mazurkewich on the conditions he abstain from alcohol and bars.

On Thursday his case was adjourned until January 31st.

Mazurkewich finished third in this year’s civic election, behind current Mayor Don Atchison and Tom Wolf.
