Huskies edge Redmen at University Cup

The U of S men’s hockey team defeated the McGill Redmen 4-3 on Saturday at the University Cup in Fredericton.

Kyle Ross broke a 3-3 tie with 5:12 left to go in the third period. Kyle Bortis and Derek Hulak had the other Huskies goals, while Evan Vossen, Francis Verreault-Paul and Keven Dupont scored for the Redmen.

All three teams in pool B finished with 1 and 1 records. However McGill advanced to Sunday’s final based on a +2 in goals for/goals against in their two round robin games. . Moncton finished with a +1, the Huskies finished at -3. The Huskies fell to Moncton 5-1 on Saturday.
