The Swift Current Broncos downed the Blades 3-1 at the Credit Union i-plex on Tuesday night.
Graham Black opened the scoring at the 14:52 mark on the power play, Adam Lowry gave the Broncos a 2-0 lead in the second period.
In the third Nathan Burns scored on the power play for the Blades, to cut Swift Current's lead to 2-1, but Lowry's second of the game with six minutes left gave the Broncos the insurance they needed to win the game. Lowry now has 23 goals on the season.
The Broncos did a good job in limiting the Blades chances, as Saskatoon had just 21 shots on the Broncos net last night.
The loss ends Saskatoon's six game win streak. The Blades remain in a fifth place tie with Lethbridge in the WHL's eastern conference. The Broncos are two points behind the Blades and 'Canes.
WHL teams are on their Christmas break. The Blades are in Prince Albert on the Dec. 28.
