A Saskatoon woman's cup of coffee has turned into a new car.

Susan Mason was handed the keys to a 2017 Honda Civic Friday after winning the grand prize in Tim Horton's Roll Up the Rim to Win contest.

Mason's is one of 40 cars that were available to be won in the contest.

The winning cup was bought at a Tim Horton's on the University of Saskatchewan campus.

Mason said she first won a free coffee using a gift card, which then led to her picking up the grand prize-winning cup.

She said she made sure to show her gratitude to the people who gave her the card.

"I went up to them and said 'thanks for the car,'" she said with a chuckle during a media event at the U of S.
