Rush down Buffalo to lock up playoff spot

The Saskatchewan Rush downed Buffalo 17-14 to become the first team in the NLL to clinch a playoff berth in 2017.

The Saskatchewan Rush are the first team in the National Lacrosse League to lock down a playoff spot after a 17-14 win in Buffalo.

Mark Matthews led the way with a nine-point night, scoring twice and adding seven assists.

Adam Jones and Ryan Keenan both had hat-tricks while Curtis Knight, Adrian Sorichetti, and Ben McIntosh also scored twice. Mike Messenger, Robert Church and Matthew Dinsdale added singles.

Aaron Bold made 39 saves in the win as the Rush outshot Buffalo 64-53.

The Rush return home Saturday, April 8 to host Vancouver.
