650 CKOM's Adopt A Family

We are no longer accepting applications to Adopt a Family, however there is still the opportunity to make a monetary donation!

These donations help us provide gift cards in special circumstances to people who may have extreme allergies or medical conditions which can make it difficult for them to be adopted.  We also supply the Salvation Army with Gift Cards after the December 22nd delivery date to ensure no one goes hungry at Christmas.  There are often unforeseen needs that arise after our cut off period. We have arrangements through the Saskatoon Community Foundation to issue tax receipts for monetary donations.   To donate online, click the "Donate" button on the top right of this page.

Christmas is the one time of the year where families and children should be able to count on something special.  Long time Morning Team Brent Loucks and Penney Murphy created the Adopt A Family program in 1988 bringing businesses, communities, families and individuals together to help less fortunate families in Saskatoon and surrounding area.
The families that benefit from 650 CKOM’s Adopt A Family come from a variety of circumstances: homes where a parent has recently been laid off, single parent homes, low-income households; seniors on a fixed income without family near by to celebrate the season.  The demand grows every year, and with the amazing support of Saskatoon people, the program grows with it.
Last year, more than 265 families, including 780 children, received gifts and a wonderful Christmas meal. We heard stories of people that had been an adopted family 10 years ago now back on their feet chose to give back and be the adopter this time!
